DIY - Warm Cinnamon Clarifying Facial Mask

Show of virtual hands – where are my do-it-yourself’ers?

DIY, this post is for you! And for those just pulling up a chair to the DIY table, you’re going to love this.

Today, I’m sharing a simple, all-natural recipe.

Introducing: Warm Cinnamon Clarifying Facial Mask.

*Happy sigh*

We’re still in the thick of winter (even the warmer weather states are experiencing a cold front), so this mask is right on time. The combination of harsh wind, low temps, and fluctuating weather can lead to dry skin, and this mask is ideal to refresh and revitalize.

Let’s get to it!

Warm Cinnamon Clarifying Facial Mask

  • 1 tbsp raw honey (I prefer manuka)*

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp fresh, organic lemon juice

  • 2 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)

*Vegans, feel free to substitute 1 tbsp vegetable glycerin

  1. Warm honey in the microwave for eight to ten seconds.

  2. Remove from microwave. Mix in cinnamon, lemon, and tea tree oil.

  3. Allow to cool until it starts to thicken.

  4. Make sure the honey mixture is not hot to the touch by patch testing on the back of your hand. If the mixture is at a warm (not hot) temperature, apply with a facial brush or spatula.

  5. Allow it to sit for ten to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and moisturize with Honeydipped’s Cranberry + Perilla Facial Oil (coming soon) or any oil of your choice.

Not only will this mask revitalize and renew, but it will help fight hormonal breakouts caused by stress and hormonal imbalances. This mask is perfect for fighting mask-ne as well (mask-ne: hormonal acne caused by masks).

Please keep this in mind – a quality mask does not include ingredients at random. This mask’s ingredients are thoughtfully based on how they respond together and individually.

Honey/glycerin is a humectant, which helps skin retain moisture.
Cinnamon acts as a light exfoliation and antioxidant to help fight breakouts. Plus, it evens your skin tone.
Lemon juice is full of vitamin c to help repair skin damage, reduce inflammation, and decrease oil production.
Tea tree essential oil calms redness and reduces acne scars.

I hope you enjoy this recipe, and I look forward to sharing more with you in the future.

Happy New Year! 2021 is ours!
